A Fresh Approach to a Positive Birthing Experience

The Special Delivery Birthing Center staff and providers at Rumford Hospital are always exploring new and innovative ways to make the labor and delivery process a very positive experience.  We offer classes on hypnobirthing, or the use of hypnosis during labor and delivery.  Hypnosis is a naturally induced state of deep relaxation.  You will learn relaxation and self-hypnosis techniques to reduce the fear and tension that can cause a long labor and pain, replacing it with confidence, calm and comfort.  You will be totally relaxed, but fully in control. 

Through the Special Delivery Birthing Center, interested mothers-to-be and their support people study hypnobirthing in a series of five 2 ½ - hour classes offered at Rumford Hospital.  For more information call us at 207-369-1094.
