Rumford Hospital Emergency Services Offers Care 24 Hours
The Rumford Hospital Emergency Department serves our communities 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Our emergency-certified physicians and nurses have access to comprehensive diagnostic equipment and technology, and a full-service lab.
The hospital works closely with the area’s ambulance service to provide critical medical assistance as quickly as possible. As a member of the Central Maine Medical Family, Rumford Hospital is also affiliated with CMMC’s Lifeflight program, a helicopter service which transports trauma victims to CMMC or other critical care facilities.
The Rumford Hospital Emergency Department also has a tele-neurological service available, as an affiliate with Massachusetts General Hospital. Neurosurgeons in Boston can asses head trauma victims and possible stroke victims through the use of Skype, a computer program that allows live viewing.
