Rumford Hospital and all hospital-owned grounds have been tobacco free since November 2003.  All smoking materials must be extinguished before entering the campuses of Rumford Hospital, Swift River Health Care, the VA Building and Elsemore Dixfield Center.

Inpatients are offered various stop-smoking helps by their physicians, and the hospital sponsors regular quit-smoking programs.
